About Us

YOUR LOCAL SOURCE FOR INTERIOR DESIGN SINCE 1987

In the Shade has been serving Martin and St. Lucie Counties since 1987. Jan Dean has been the proud owner since its inception. Collectively, she and her staff have over 130 years experience in the window covering industry.

We take pride in our profession. Our team has gone to school, acquired interior design degrees and has studied the related arts fields. We have the ability to advise and design the perfect window covering for your home. We are a group of design professionals that have decided to specialize in one media and that is the window covering industry.

The "couture of window coverings and interior ambiances" is our passion and we bring the room setting and the window coverings together to create the perfect decor.

Our 2400 square foot showroom features the Hunter Douglas Window Fashions Gallery which displays all the latest trends in the window covering industry, including the latest in motorization technology. In the Shade has been named "Best Window Covering Retailer" for several years and when you visit the showroom you will see why! Our draperies, soft treatments and creative top treatment ideas will keep you tantalized and amazed. You will have thousands of fabrics to choose from at In The Shade. Let our focus on window coverings become the inspiration to meet your dreams for your home.

Our team is ready to assist you. Please call to schedule your home appointment and when you get a chance, don't miss visiting our beautiful showroom.
